(This was very much inspired by Samson by Regina Spektor - I originally intended to write some sort of "you are my sweetest downfall" kind of philosophical angsty scribblings [because that is how I roll] but then I found myself latched onto the lines "beneath the stars came falling on our heads/but they're just old light" which is how the title came into being. A little light stargazing, Sybil/Branson)

(This one has been posted at the pit of voles, but I like it, so it's going up ~everywhere~ - it may even be my first AO3 Downton fic, oh my! Written entirely on Valentine's Day, so maybe it's just a point of pride... And I'd say this was the closest I'd got to actual fluff for these two. Sibyl/Branson, I think of them as Sybil/Branson, not Sybil/Tom... does that say something about me?, Valentine's Day 1914 [mostly])

(why can't I write fluff for my OTP? why? Sybil/Branson, obvs. PG, I suppose - The varying reasons that young women have affairs with their staff... that is a godawful summary, I'll probably rewrite that when - if - my mind starts behaving again)

(Oh hey, it's that couple I can't decide if I ship or not. Matthew/Mary, vaguely set at the end of the party, after That Announcement [I set a lot of fics then...?] I quite often review Matthew/Mary fics with the caveat that if what they've written happens, then I could ship Matthew/Mary, but I still don't - that make sense? I don't know, it's late, I'm tired - and that's sort of where this came from... Writing the way that I could ship it. Which I'm hoping comes across here; I'm hoping it works! There's barely a hint of Sybil/Branson; what has become of me?)

(LET ME REVEAL THE PROCESS BEHIND THIS ONE: I see a fic on the Downton Abbey comm which is Sybil/Matthew, I get excited, said fic is flocked. I get irked because I want to read me some Sybil/Matthew goodness, and then I end up writing some. [incidentally, fic was indeed goodness and worth the wait :3] Except that it isn't that Sybil/Matthewy, it's more... friendship with a hint. Potential Sybil/Matthew. Because Sybil/Branson is my OTP and I have great difficulty writing stuff that isn't my OTP XD Set roughly during the garden party, after Matthew and Mary's conversation but before the news is announced.)

(I've never written any of these 5 + 1 fics before - well, one, but it's Jupiter Palladium and basically made of spoilers, so. The idea for this one occurred to me last night, so I ended up scribbling down the first couple and theorising the next few. For once I actually set myself a word limit - each of them is 100 words, which was bloody difficult... Sybil-centric, because I love her, oh yes I do.)
